Is this the official Harmony Music app?

No. This is the community-maintained fixed & optimized edition. It patches bugs the original maintainers have not addressed yet. All source code is on GitHub and MIT-licensed.

Is it safe to install Harmony Music?

Yes. Every release is built from a tagged commit, signed, and virus-scanned. You can verify the SHA-256 checksum on the GitHub release page before installing. The Windows installer (Setup.exe) and Android APK are both digitally signed.

Which platforms are supported?

Harmony Music is available for Windows (10/11), Android (7.0+), and Linux (x86_64 AppImage). All three platforms are available for download now.

How do I install Harmony Music on Windows?

Download the HarmonyMusic_v1.14.0_windows.zip file, extract it, and run harmonymusic.exe. Works on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). No installer needed — just extract and run.

How do I install Harmony Music on Android?

Download the HarmonyMusic_v1.14.0.apk file, then grant your browser the Install unknown apps permission in Settings → Apps → Special access. Tap the downloaded APK and press Install. Takes about 10 seconds.

How do I install Harmony Music on Linux?

Download the Harmony-Music-1.14.0-x86_64.AppImage file, make it executable (chmod +x), and run it. AppImages run on most Linux distributions without installation — no dependencies required.

Will I lose my library if I switch from the official app?

No. Harmony Music reads from the same on-device media library, so your locally-stored music and playlists are preserved. Cloud playlists tied to a signed-in account will re-sync automatically.

Why does Android warn me about unknown apps?

That is Android's standard warning for any APK installed outside the Play Store. Grant your browser the Install unknown apps permission for this one-time install. This is safe — the APK is signed and virus-scanned.

How often are updates released?

A new fixed build ships roughly every 2–4 weeks, depending on upstream bugs. Subscribe to the newsletter to get an email the moment a new version drops — including the Linux release.

Is Harmony Music free?

Yes, completely free. No subscription, no ads, no tracking, no in-app purchases. The app is MIT-licensed open-source software. Donations to support development are welcome but optional.

What audio formats are supported?

Harmony Music supports MP3, FLAC, ALAC, WAV, OGG Vorbis, and AAC. Gapless playback works for all lossless formats (FLAC, ALAC, WAV). Embedded album artwork is supported for all formats.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Harmony Music is offline-first. Cache up to 10,000 tracks for offline playback. Network switching no longer kills playback — cached tracks resume instantly when you reconnect.

Is there a desktop version for Mac or Linux?

Yes! Harmony Music is now available for Linux as an AppImage (x86_64). macOS is not currently planned. Download the Linux AppImage from the download section.
